Ahead of the show, leading semiconductor equipment makers announced India investment plans:

  • Applied Materials will invest INR 36 billion (~RMB 2.52B) over the next decade in a Bengaluru commercial park in Karnataka, covering R&D, core semiconductor equipment manufacturing, and semiconductor software development – creating an estimated 1,000 jobs.

  • Lam Research plans to invest INR 100 billion (~RMB 6.99B) to establish its first silicon ingot production base in India, while expanding local advanced R&D and building a semiconductor talent development system.
